We picked up The Pioneer newspaper this morning and read a thoroughly inappropriate letter to the editor. Newspapers are to share the local and regional news, especially this mediocre, definitely not worth 50 cents paper. But it's the only local news we get, so we got it anyway. This letter, written by a guy named Larry London blasted "homosexual sin" and proceeded to bash it as sin that is going to be the downfall of humanity. If this crappy paper wasn't exclusive to members online (which I am not), I would provide a link to this writing. If interested, I can retype it, but right now I'm honestly just too lazy and bent out of shape. Instead, I am posting my response to his garbage claims.
Larry London’s religious attack on homosexuality comes as no surprise. Closed-minded “Christians” have been tossing around Romans 1:29-32 to support their cause for years. What they repeatedly fail to mention is the following verse, Romans 2:1 – “Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others; for in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things.” If God is the judge, and He has the final say, how can you, as a Christian, justify passing judgment on another?
Larry states, “…the question for us is who to believe – Hollywood or God’s Holy Word?” Really? This is about Hollywood? Okay, Mr. London, let us take a look at how Hollywood portrays the “ideal” heterosexual relationships. Marriage is to be taken lightly. After all, Elizabeth Taylor has been married eight times, and some, such as Britney Spears, decided to get married on a whim and divorced a few short hours later. That’s a wonderful example to our children. Why not? Divorce is great, as long as you are straight.
He is right about one thing though. God’s plan for same-sex parents is to change the world in which we live. Two people in a committed relationship built on a foundation of love and mutual respect, raising a child in a loving and nurturing environment are proving that it is okay to be the person God created you to be and that God does not make mistakes. We are all His creations, gay, straight, bi, confused, and that is what He made us to be. These parents will come up against bigots and hypocrites, but by showing their children that their life and who they love is natural to them, hopefully they can change the world and reduce the number of the unnecessarily angry “religious” people in the world.
I will not freak out...

So we're heading up to Elizabeth's ballet class. The walk from the parking
lot takes a few minutes so we make quite the entry. The four year old
