Several years ago I was a mail carrier in Long Beach, CA. The longest time I spent on one route was a nice little route in an area known as Naples Island. At the time it was a little piece of paradise, my own private Disneyland where I got to fantasize daily what it would be like to live a life that afforded me the luxury of living in these houses with boats docked in their front yard. Then I saw the price tag. This house pictured here is on the market for $4,850,000. If you think your eyes are playing tricks on you, that's almost five MILLION dollars. I looked up an estimated monthly mortgage on a place like this back then and it was estimated that I would only have to spend $40,000 a month to call it home. Hmm.... Considering the fact that I don't own a huge car dealership or make my money from residual earnings with my celebrity status (Vicki Lawrence owned a house here back when I worked the streets), I decided to rethink my ideas of my "dream" home. Would Naples be nice? OH yeah! If I was brilliantly and suddenly rich.
My dream home today is much more down to earth. I removed my head from the glitzy glittery clouds and placed it firmly in the countryside. This house here is actually a model home in Mount Pleasant, but I find myself drawn back to it repeatedly. The front door goes right into the living room, and a spacious kitchen/dining room are off to the left. I have already decided that those enormous bay windows in the kitchen (shown in the picture) will be facing east so that I can drink my morning coffee whilst enjoying beautiful sunrises in the mornings I don't have to work before dawn. The living room leads to a simple hallway with the utility room and a full bathroom to the right and two bedrooms to the left. The master bedroom and bathroom are at the end of the hallway, and I've seen a couple different versions - one with a garden tub (you didn't think my flair for awesomeness would totally go away, did you?) and I love them all. The highlights for me are the covered porch that's just big enough for a couple chairs, the windows in the kitchen, and the rounded edges of the walls. I walk into walls ALL the time, so it would be nice if the edges didn't attack me.
All of this planted on three to five acres of open grassy land, weeping willows at the mailbox, burning bushes along the driveway, and a couple nectarine trees, and we're good to go. And it wouldn't hurt to have an extra acre or two for my Christmas tree farm. ;)
I will not freak out...

So we're heading up to Elizabeth's ballet class. The walk from the parking
lot takes a few minutes so we make quite the entry. The four year old
